About Badger Trust West Sussex

Badger Trust West Sussex, formerly the West Sussex Badger Protection Group, promotes the understanding, study and protection of badgers, we aim to:

• Encourage members to adopt a badger sett and regularly monitor them to help prevent illegal disturbance: ideally by keeping a diary of photo records.
• Encourage members to alert us to any potential planning matters that can encroach on badger habitat/setts.
• Investigate sett disturbance and planning issues and maintain records of badger setts.
• Give illustrated talks on badgers to schools, societies and clubs.
• Provide a full and interesting programme of events including meetings in the winter months.
• Fund and operate a rescue and rehabilitation service for sick and injured badgers.
• Raise public awareness of badgers and the threats they face.
• Support any changes in the law which will protect badgers.

We can give advice on how to benefit your environment and for a modest cost provide bird and bat boxes

Fundraising

In order to function we sell bric-a-brac and give talks. If you have good quality goods to donate please contact us

Talks

Speakers can for a donation give talks about badgers to groups such as schools, societies and clubs. We hope they are interesting and informative with slides and exhibits. Please note we do not keep or use live animals. For more information contact us
