The Government have announced that MPs will be asked to vote on changes to existing laws on fox hunting in England and Wales next week. Make no mistake, these proposals are simply a return to hunting by the back door.
By amending the Hunting Act, the Government would be deliberately and cynically making it easier for hunts to chase and kill foxes, and harder for them to be convicted when they break the law. This is not about hunting foxes for pest control, it’s about hunting foxes for fun.
Please, don’t be silent on this issue. Write to your MP today and ask him or her to keep Britain humane by keeping the ban.
Badger Trust West Sussex, formerly the West Sussex Badger Protection Group, aims to promote the understanding, study and protection of badgers across our county. We are affiliated to the Badger Trust - the nationwide charitable organisation which campaigns to protect badgers across the UK.

Several badger protection groups operate in the region. BTWS covers West Sussex from the border with Hampshire up to a north-south vertical line that starts in the Littlehampton area with the A29 as shown on the map below. To the east, which is still West Sussex, incorporating Horsham, Storrington, Worthing, East Grinstead and Burgess HIll is covered by Badger Trust Sussex (formerly Mid Sussex Badger Protection Group).
We are proud supporters of the National Anti Snaring Campaign which was founded in the 1990s after a spate of badger snaring deaths in West Sussex.
